About Adam & Son
Most auto shops base advisor compensation on commission, which creates pressure to recommend unnecessary services. We're different: our advisors earn a salary with team bonuses tied to customer satisfaction. This means their success depends on earning your trust, not recommending unnecessary repairs. We also provide digital inspections with photos and videos so you can see exactly what we see.
Yes! We offer a 5-year/50,000-mile warranty on most repairs, which is one of the best warranties in the industry.
Yes! We have a fleet of over 40 loaner vehicles across both locations—one of the largest in Colorado Springs. Continue your day while we work on your car. Call ahead to reserve yours.
Both locations are open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. We are closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
While we accept walk-ins, we recommend scheduling an appointment to ensure we can serve you promptly. You can call either location or use our online contact form.
Brake repair costs vary based on what's needed — pad replacement typically ranges from $200-$400 per axle, while rotors add to the cost. We provide a free brake inspection with digital photos so you see exactly what's needed before any work begins. No surprises, no pressure.
Look for shops with transparent pricing, digital inspections (so you see the problem yourself), strong warranties, and non-commissioned advisors. Commission-based pay creates pressure to recommend unnecessary repairs. At Adam & Son, our advisors earn a salary tied to customer satisfaction, not transaction volume.
Oil change prices in Colorado Springs range from $40-$120 depending on conventional vs. synthetic oil and your vehicle type. At Adam & Son, every oil change includes a comprehensive digital inspection with photos and video so you stay informed about your vehicle's condition.
Unfortunately, commission-based pay at most shops creates incentive to recommend unnecessary work. Adam & Son addresses this directly — our service advisors earn a salary with bonuses tied to customer satisfaction, not sales. We also show you digital photos and videos of every issue so you can see for yourself what's needed.
Our digital inspection includes photos and video of your vehicle's key systems — brakes, tires, fluids, belts, suspension, and more. You receive these directly on your phone so you can see exactly what we see. We explain what needs attention now, what can wait, and what's in good condition.
94% of our customers trust us more than other shops, and 31% of our customers are referred to us by other mechanics — something that rarely happens in this industry. We back our work with a 5-year/50,000-mile warranty, one of the best in the business. We've served Colorado Springs for 25+ years.
Adam & Son founded the Stranded Motorist Fund specifically to help people who are struggling to afford vehicle repairs. If you need assistance, please visit strandedmotoristfund.org to submit a free, confidential application. The Stranded Motorist Fund reviews every application and works to get people back on the road. Please do not call our shops or schedule an appointment for repair assistance — the application process is handled entirely through the Stranded Motorist Fund website.
Auto Repair & Maintenance
Squeaking brakes are usually caused by worn brake pads, glazed rotors, or dust and debris on the brake components. While some light squeaking is normal, persistent or loud squeaking often indicates your brake pads need replacement. We offer free brake inspections to diagnose the exact cause.
Your check engine light can indicate many things, from a loose gas cap to a failing catalytic converter or oxygen sensor. The light means your vehicle's computer detected an issue that needs attention. We use advanced diagnostic equipment to read the error codes and pinpoint the exact problem.
Most modern vehicles with synthetic oil can go 7,500 to 10,000 miles between oil changes. However, this varies by vehicle and driving conditions. Colorado's elevation and temperature extremes can affect your oil, so check your owner's manual or ask us for a recommendation specific to your car.
If your car is overheating, safely pull over and turn off the engine immediately. Do not open the radiator cap while hot. Let the engine cool for at least 30 minutes, then check your coolant level. If it continues to overheat, have it towed to avoid serious engine damage. We can diagnose cooling system issues.
Check your tire tread depth using the penny test - insert a penny with Lincoln's head down; if you can see the top of his head, your tread is too low. Also look for uneven wear, cracks, bulges, or vibration while driving. We inspect tires during every service and can recommend replacements when needed.
Grinding noises often indicate metal-on-metal contact, which could mean severely worn brake pads, a failing wheel bearing, transmission issues, or a damaged CV joint. Grinding should be inspected immediately as it can lead to more expensive damage. Bring your car in for a diagnostic inspection.
If the check engine light is steady (not flashing), you can usually drive short distances to get it checked. However, a flashing check engine light indicates a serious problem like engine misfires that can damage your catalytic converter - pull over safely and have your car towed. Either way, get it diagnosed promptly.
A standard oil change typically takes 30 to 45 minutes at Adam & Son. This includes draining the old oil, replacing the filter, adding fresh oil, and performing our complimentary multi-point inspection. We'll send you a digital report with photos of your vehicle's condition.
Shaking or vibration when braking is usually caused by warped brake rotors or unevenly worn brake pads. This can happen from heavy braking, driving in mountainous areas like Colorado Springs, or normal wear over time. We can resurface or replace your rotors to eliminate the vibration.
A transmission flush removes old, contaminated fluid and replaces it with fresh fluid. This helps maintain smooth shifting, prevents overheating, and extends transmission life. Most vehicles need a transmission service every 30,000 to 60,000 miles, depending on the manufacturer's recommendations.
