Cimarron Hills, CO
The community of Cimarron Hills is located within El Paso County, east of Colorado Springs and three miles north of the Colorado Springs airport. Cimarron Hills houses a population of more than 16,000 residents across a land area of 6.1 square miles.
Railroad construction began in 1888 on a line into Colorado Springs that passed through Cimarron Hills. The Rocky Mountain Rocket passenger train provided service on this line into the later 1960s. Today, Cimarron Hills is a mostly residential area that’s easily accessible by US 24. Cherokee Ridge Golf Course stands out within the community, in addition to the smaller Cimarron Eastridge Park. East Fork Sand Creek runs through the southeast section of town.
